Curb Culture Opening

On the opening day we set up the 20 artist designed sandwich boards in front of the Pillsbury House + Theatre.   After that night they were distributed to the 20 business locations along Chicago Avenue.

The CURB CULTURE PROJECT

The CurbCulture exhibit was created by a group of teens from the Pillsbury House CREW program working with professional artists Masa Kawahara, Xavier Tavera, and Peter Haakon Thompson.

The teens involved in CurbCulture had a hand in every aspect of the exhibit.  They created an open call for artists, constructed the sandwich boards, selected the artists for exhibition, and went door to door to meet business owners to secure locations for artwork to be exhibited.

Spring Teen Nights

The CREW youth started hosting monthly TEEN NIGHTS throughout the spring.  Each night involved making food (Pizzas), playing videogames, and planning and designing the new Teen Lounge.
